Post-Plastic Surgery Recovery Specialist
Post-op recovery is not one-size-fits-all. The care your body needs after surgery is very different from what it needs weeks later as incisions close, swelling changes, scar tissue begins forming, and mobility returns.
A provider trained in general lymphatic drainage may understand how to move fluid, but post-surgical recovery requires additional knowledge: how to work around healing incisions, how to navigate disrupted lymphatic pathways, surgical drains, compression garments, bruised tissue, fibrosis, seromas, scar tissue and the different stages of healing.
That is why choosing the right professional matters. Post-op care should be gentle, stage-appropriate, and customized to your procedure. At Wellness by Marissa, post-op recovery sessions are designed specifically for the changes your body goes through after plastic or reconstructive surgery. If you are preparing for surgery or already in recovery, schedule your post-op care with a professional who understands more than lymphatic drainage, you deserve someone trained to support the healing process.
Acute Healing (0–3 Weeks)
The body focuses on protection and inflammation management. Swelling, fluid shifts, and sensitivity are normal during this phase. Care is gentle and supportive.
Subacute Recovery (3–8 Weeks)
Swelling gradually changes as tissues reorganize. Support focuses on comfort, mobility, and adapting to the body’s evolving healing response.
Remodeling Phase (2–6 Months+)
Tissues continue maturing long after surgery. Care may focus on supporting mobility, comfort, and healthy tissue adaptation as healing progresses.

As healing progressed, Endermotherapy was introduced to gently support tissue mobility and comfort during the remodeling phase of recovery. The treatment helped soften areas of firmness, improve tissue movement beneath the skin, and support a smoother, more uniform appearance as swelling resolved and tissues adapted naturally over time.

During the remodeling phase of healing, advanced modalities are introduced to support circulation, tissue comfort, and healthy adaptation. Treatment focused on helping areas of residual swelling and firmness gradually soften, allowing tissues to move more freely and appear smoother as recovery progressed.

LymphaTouch therapy is used to gently support fluid movement and tissue comfort during recovery. The treatment uses controlled negative pressure to assist areas of swelling and tissue restriction, helping support circulation and encourage natural fluid movement as healing progresses. Care is applied according to the stage of recovery to promote comfort, improve tissue mobility, and support a smoother healing process over time.
